The 18th Annual Stick Boy Bread Company Mayview Madness Returns to the High Country, Sept. 30
The 18th annual Stick Boy Bread Company Mayview Madness 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, September 30th in Blowing Rock. Along with the 5K run, there will also be a 1-mile fun run for kids sponsored by Blue Ridge Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine.
Last year, a mix of cool mountain air and sunny skies brought over 320 runners out to enjoy the scenic views of the Blue Ridge as they climbed Wonderland Trail Road early Saturday morning. They welcomed the challenge of a steep run through the Mayview neighborhood knowing that sticky buns, coffee, and even beer awaited them on the other side of the finish line.
The proceeds from this annual event benefit the Blue Ridge Conservancy, which works with willing landowners and local communities to permanently protect land and water resources with agricultural, ecological, cultural, recreational and scenic value in northwest North Carolina.

The event was started 18 years ago as a small fundraiser for what was then known as the High Country Conservancy. The race was originally established by a small group of people on the board of the High Country Conservancy as a fun way to raise money and also to highlight the scenic Mayview neighborhood in Blowing Rock.
