Protecting Wildlife and Ecologically Sensitive Areas

 

In 2020, an Appalachian State University biology professor and his students completed a wildlife inventory along BRC's 400 acre conservation corridor on Peak Mountain and a privately owned conservation easement just outside of Boone. What the cameras showed us is inpsiring.

The abundance and diversity found in close proximity to our neighborhoods and highways will feel the pressures of commercial and residential development if we do not act first. Blue Ridge Conservancy feels that it is our duty to protect these lands to keep ecosystems and their inhabitants healthy and intact.
