$40,000 raised at annual Gamekeeper Auction
On June 5th, 300 BRC supporters ventured out to an unfamiliar farm in Ashe County to celebrate the 19th Gamekeeper Auction-- not quite knowing what to expect.
The Barn on the New River exceeded all expectations. The rain clouds receded, the grill was hot, and Will Easter and the Nomads' music filled the room with delightful tunes. Six breweries poured samples of their best beer and cider, and the food by the talented folks from the Gamekeeper made it a night to remember.
Jesse Miller, the High Country's most notorious auctioneer, led the crowd through our most exciting live auction to date. Kelly McCoy raffled off a Precision Kayak donated by River Girl Fishing Company and Outdoor Supply Company!
Together, we raised $40,000 for land conservation, clean air and water, local farmers, access to healthy foods, and outdoor recreation with record attendance and record auction participation.
We are so grateful for your enthusiasm and support.
