June 2nd is National Trails Day! National Trails Day amplifies the important role that protected natural environments and the outdoors play in the health and economy of communities across the United States.

In honor of National Trails Day, Destination by Design, High Country Recreation, and Stick Boy Bakery are partnering with BRC to host a clean up day at Howard Knob Community Park. Please join us to beautify this Boone landmark from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Coffee and pastries are provided by our friends at Stick Boy.

Gamekeeper Auction on June 6th

BRC is hosting the 18th annual Gamekeeper Auction on Wednesday, June 6 from 5:30 PM to 8 PM at the Blowing Rock American Legion.
 
We invite everyone in the community to come out and enjoy an evening of great food and drink provided by local businesses to help support Blue Ridge Conservancy’s mission to protect our North Carolina resources.

A silent and live auction and will feature local prizes donated from our community sponsors. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on local art, pottery, vacation packages, and many other items while enjoying food catered by Gamekeeper, and a variety of beer and wines from local vendors.
 
Individual tickets are $30 each or $50 for two. Tickets can be purchased in advance at http://blueridgeconservancy.org/ or by calling 828-264-2511. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted.

Is there Hope for Hemlocks?

Join Blue Ridge Conservancy (BRC) and the Hemlock Restoration Initiative (HRI) for a free, public seminar discussing the future of hemlocks in our Western North Carolina ecosystem. The presentation will include information about the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid, efforts to combat this pest, and what you can do to get involved in hemlock conservation.
