Blue Ridge Conservancy (BRC) recently transferred 615 acres of land to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) to become part of Three Top Mountain Game Land. With this transfer, BRC has conserved 1,000 acres at Three Top, bringing the total area to over 3,100 acres of protected land.
An abandoned grain silo provides the perfect home for multiple broods of owlets yearly, according to landowner Jay Coman.

Read More“Payne Branch Park has been a public access picnic and fishing area for about 15 years and now that the dam is gone, it is a safer and more accessible area,” said Blue Ridge Conservancy’s Wendy Patoprsty.
When complete, Payne Branch Park will become a spur trail for the Middle Fork Greenway.
