Join Blue Ridge Conservancy and the Hemlock Restoration Initiative (HRI) for a volunteer hemlock treatment opportunity in the High Country on Friday, April 19, 2019 to celebrate Earth Day!
North Carolina’s hemlocks are threatened by an invasive insect called the hemlock woolly adelgid.
With the help of volunteers, HRI has protected thousands of hemlocks, and you can be part of that number by joining us to treat the hemlocks of Valle Crucis Conference Center, in Banner Elk, NC.
In volunteering, you will gain firsthand experience in chemically treating hemlocks to protect them against the invasive and deadly hemlock woolly adelgid.
Use the volunteer sign-up form on the website and indicate April 19th as your date of interest: www.savehemlocksnc.org/volunteer
Email volunteer@savehemlocksnc.org or call 828-252-4783 with any questions.
